Community Involvement
We believe in giving back to the communities we serve and call home, and we partner with many local nonprofits.
To date, we have donated over $1M in cash donations and free medical services to 12 Central Texas animal welfare nonprofits.
Our nonprofit partners promote animal compassion and prevent future homelessness. The free medical care we offer helps those nonprofits prepare their dogs and cats for adoption and a good life with forever families.
As we open more locations, we’ll grow our local relationships!
Before COVID, our team volunteered at 40+ events per year. We ventured out to meet the people and pets of Central Texas at hyperlocal neighborhood events like school science days and July 4th parades. We also supported larger civic events including the Buda Lions Club Wiener Dog Races, Austin PRIDE, and APA!’s “Paddle for Puppies”.
In 2020, we’ve continued to give back in more socially distanced ways: our doctors visit shelters to volunteer one-on-one, we have fostered animals at our homes, and we’ve mentored students at our hospitals.

Firehouse supported the Austin American-Statesman’s Season For Caring campaign for the 4th year in 2020. We donated $10,000 in free medical care for pets whose owners were part of the fundraiser. Here’s how we helped:

August 2019 APA Paddle for Pups w/ APA – Despite algae blooms in Austin lakes making it unsafe for pups, the community still rallied together to support Austin Subaru’s Paddle for Puppies. This event benefits the Parvo Puppy Program at Austin Pets Alive! Our team had a great time helping APA with this event and we look forward to next year.
